What are your top values for picking a post-secondary (after high school) school?
I want to get the most out of my education. I want to gain a rich knowledge in the medical field through rigorous courses that test my limits in schooling.
What does a “best fit” college or university look like for you?
I’d prefer to be in a smaller environment where I can collaborate and have 1 on 1 help from experts in the field I'm studying.
What have you learned about how to create a fulfilling career for yourself?
I’ve been working on taking classes that will help me broaden my knowledge and gain experience in medical background at animas highschool, some of which has been delayed due to covid-19. I will challenge myself with rigorous math classes, and courses such as anatomy.
What is one insight, or take away, you have about your own future path based on reading about the paths of others?
Reading about others experiences in their career field such as nursing has only made me more excited to have a jump start into my career interests.
As of right now, what are your college and career goals?
I’ve always been interested in surgery and neuroscience, however I’m not sure if that's exactly what i want to pursue in the medical field. While I’ll always have those goals in mind I don't think I’ll know exactly what I want to pursue until I complete different tasks and tastes of careers in medical school.
How can you make your choices in high school better aligned with your future goals?
Currently, I am working towards completing a CMA (certified medical assistant) certificate at Pueblo community college. I’m also trying to work on becoming EMT-B certified before I graduate junior year at animas highschool.
What did you learn about yourself from YouScience?
Through completing multiple tasks and games in YouScience, I’ve been told I’m mostly a sequential thinker. This means I can multitask, and pick out patterns easily. Whether they do or do not exist.
How do you think this knowledge might impact your choice of career?
Hopefully this will open up opportunities for me in stem related and medical fields.
