Essential questions

What was this project? |
WHAT IS THE NATURE OF LIGHT?
WHAT IS THE NATURE OF A PHOTOGRAPH? HOW IS THE STUDY OF OPTICS RELEVANT TODAY? |
This project helped us understand the basics of physics, such as reflection, waves, refraction, color, light waves, and light emissions. We used our skills such as critical thinking, creativity, and experimental design to create final products in the form of photographs. Our photographs would show an element of physics, and almost tell a story about it within the artwork.

My final photograph: dewy morning relfections
My focus for my photograph is reflection. Reflection is the amount of light being reflected off of a surface (ex. bubble) The colors in this bubble come from white light. White light contains all colors of the rainbow, so, when light reflects on the bubble it pulls out the beautiful colors we see.
Project reflection
I think my greatest strength during this project was completing and turning in my work on time. I’ve struggled with having motivation for class due to online school, and have lacked creating beautiful work because of it. The way that I pushed myself during these difficult times was by completing my work during the class period, whether that be the zoom meeting or the time given after the meeting to work. This helped me keep myself motivated and organized. I never realized how much I like photography, I was really infatuated working with the red room and developing photographs. This is definitely something I want to do again and want to refine. I think I understood how important and careful science experiments are, such as taking a photo using a pinhole camera. A lot of the work is precise and requires an exact amount of exposure, chemicals, and time. I think I did pretty well on this project due to the circumstances even if I did not succeed in making final products like my pin-hole camera photo, I still enjoyed the process.
